Space Navigator with AutoCAD 2008 in 2D

Unfortunately, now, I have this same problem with 2008, so I can't use the Space Navigator in 2D anymore.

With Autocad 2005 I was able to pan and zoom in 2D with the "Screen Mode" which work fine !

when I start AutoCAD 2008, I am in "2D Wireframe". There you should be able to zoom and pan. When you open the ControlPanel in 2D mode, what configuration is enabled? What 3DxWare Version do you have installed?

Hallo, i can`t use med Spacetraveler in Autocad 2008. When im try to use it for zoom or pan i get an error message on my screen.
We have over 10 workstation`s here and it is the same problem on all of them.
Pleas, is there some on who can help me here.

I am using the latest driver. Release version 3.5.5, Driver version 6.5.4, Firmware version 3.11

I get an "fatal error" and then AutoCad 2008 shuts down. im working in an Autodesk solution center an some of our customers have the same problem. We have the latest SP installed both on XP and AutoCad.

So I go to try to speak english this time

_I start AutoCAD 2008 in "2D Wireframe" ("Filaire 2D" in french)
I'm able to zoom and pan fine with the internal dynamic zoom and pan from autocad 2008 because it stil in 2D mode during the zoom and the pan,
but when I use the Space Navigator in autocad 2008 (which work fine with autocad 2005) the screen freeze à little time before jump into 3D mode and regen - the movement are quite slow during the zoom or the pan - and when I let go off the space navigator, it return in 2D mode and regen again ... what a wast of time :-S
I can't use nomore the space navigator in this conditions

_When I open the control panel I use a specific configuration for AutoCAD 2008 or the last configuration I used with AutoCAD2005 ... both have the same problems.

_The driver I use is the 3DX software 3.5.5

So I stil use the old AutoCAD 2005 for my job with the specific driver (AutoCAD pre 2007) and it work fine !! I love your space navigator.
When I use it, autocad 2005 stil in 2D mode during the pan or the zoom and regen quickly when I let it go of

Please try using F7 - that should improve the performance in 2D-Wireframe-mode, it toggles GRIDMODE on/off.

BTW I never use grid in AutoCAD

In add to answer at your first question :

Because I often use Autocad in 2D mode, I created a 2D configuration in the control panel which disabled "tilt" and "rotate" functions
Then when I use the Space Navigator, only "pan" and "zoom" can be used

I hope find a solution ("2d mode" such as the pre-Autocad 2007 driver) because I fond of this 3D controller (when it work fine )

When I draw with AutoCAD 2005 I use an icon I created with this macro :
^C^C '3DX_motionmode screen '3DX_autoregen on
It allow me to configure automatically the space pilote how I want when I need it with only one click
Unfortunately it doesn't work with AutoCAD 2008
even with the lastest driver I just downloaded today (3DXsoftware 3.5.6)
