NX doesn't enlighten the object anymore since the driver loc

Hello Barbara,

I might have a little problem here and I am not sure if it's space nav. or it's just a coincidence. I found some similar issues in the forum but no mention of this.

I am using NX on Win 7. When I use a command like "Chamfer" in NX, program enlightens the objects when the cursor above them so that I can see which object will be selected when I click to left mouse button.

NX doesn't enlighten the object anymore since the driver locked. However it says which object will be selected on the status bar and when I click on the object, it selects it. It just doesn't enlighten the object prior to selection. When I hover the cursor over the object several times, it enlightens it, though.

I had a similar issue in Cimatron on Win XP. When I used the space nav. in Cimatron, it didn't enlighten the object nor it selects it. When I didn't use space nav. and just use the mouse to zoom, rotate and pan, it worked as it supposed to be. I updated the 3dx driver, it didn't help.
I didn't pay much attention in that time because I was about to upgrade the system.

Now, even if I didn't use space nav. in NX, preselection issue still happens. The issue in NX is not a killing one but it disturbs me anyway.

Any thoughts?

Hello Kultigin -

In applications like Cimatron the software that controls the SpaceNavigator is part of the application. You can do a clean install of the 3Dconnexion software which clears all of the profiles and settings. These settings are preserved when you update the driver so that buttons do not need to be re-mapped after updates. If you are seeing a problem after a clean install you would need to contact Cimatron's technical support.

In NX the navigation support comes from the application as well. The 3Dconnexion software - 3DxNX - only provides button mapping.The clean install of the SpaceNavigator returns it to default settings.
