Tons of exceptions, can't get to settings, and hoop-jumping excercises...

Post by ThatRobHuman »

I recently bought a SpaceMouse Enterprise

I've been hitting issues with windows - bunches exceptions being thrown - can't open settings.
I signed up for a support account, and I opened a ticket, but I can neither put images into the ticket form, nor can I copy the exception messages from the dialog (that's a windows limitation). Figuring that I'd get an automated email with to which I could reply with at least images of the exceptions.
Turns out that I got no such message (yes, I've checked my spam). I don't even know my ticket number.

So instead I come to the forums - where I have to register a completely different and separate account - just to at least get these exception messages in front of someone on staff - hopefully....

Hopefully, the images actually attach, because when I try to attach images here, the forum throws an HTTP error with no description... opening up the console here in my browser shows that POSTing to the upload returns a 403.

Frankly, this is an infuriating experience for someone who is actively trying to give support information about the problem they are experiencing...

To the staffer who happens across this message, I'm sorry that I cannot give you a ticket number with which to associate this with for context. I will nonetheless repeat my issues that I outlined in that ticket here.

I cannot open Settings from the 3d Connexions home. clicking on the app either does nothing, or shows the first exception dialog. I cannot retrieve my serial number. I am on the latest drivers on your site.

I will occasionally and periodically get the other two exceptions so long as the spacemouse service is running.

I have added an exception for the entire "C:\Program Files\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\" folder to my antivirus with no effect.

I have run "3dxrepair" (and restarted of course) and it made no difference.

Running the Viewer will work, but I will still get those errors during viewer startup. Once I dismiss those exceptions, the input of the spacemouse does work.

Running the "Training" app has similar effect. Exceptions, but I am able to use the inputs.

I cannot run the "Demo" app at all - similar exception.

I can run "chicken", "Cube3d", and "Jet", and "3dxTest" perfectly fine - and the mouse works fine within those apps.

Upgrading to the latest drivers after installing v 10.9.9 worked fine - I'm not sure what happened when I tried installing the latest drivers first.

the automated support email came to my inbox 4 hours after I submitted the ticket.
