Hi Rillee,

This could be caused by several things (hardware/software). Please contact Technical Support - they will be able to find out what is going wrong.

It may be that your device needs to be replaced. Is the SpaceNavigator recognized by windows while it does not work?

I am not sure what is causing this trouble but I would guess your device needs to be replaced.

Can you locate the SpaceNavigator in device manager while it works?

It seems as the USB port of your computer or your SpaceNavigator is running at the edge of specifications. As all other USB devices work without problems on your computer it seems as this specific unit is causing the trouble.

Yes im running a others usb devices with no problem, usb-memory, gps receiver and touch screen. I have also tried running the spacenavigator alone but it didn't help. There is no way to test if its my usb on my computer that is running at the edge of specifications? I dont want to send back the spacenavigator if there no error with it.

What happens if you use a powered USB-Hub?

Hi Rillee,
does the spacenavigator use more than 500mA?
No. Some USB ports, thought, may supply less than than required by the device.

Since the issue seems to "follow" your SpaceNavigator, you should -- as rstadie suggested -- contact one of our Customer Service representatives. They will be able to replace it. Contact are available here.
