SPace Navigator Errors

Hello,

I have a Space Navigator that I use with Creo 2 on 64 bit Windows 7. I'm running the latest 3DxWare, version 10.4.10.

I have several issues with my devise that I'd like to solve.

1 - Startup errors.

Frequently on startup I get error messages relating to 3Dx. I almost always get this one saying the server has stopped:

If I get that one, I often, but not always, get this one once I close it:

3dx_error2.JPG (111.76 KiB) Viewed 3967 times

That one is usually followed by the first again. Once these are dismissed the device seems to work fine.

What is the cause?

2 - Random Files in My CAD directory

My CAD directories are full of 1kb files generated by 3Dx with random, gibberish names:

If I open these in Notepad, they look like XML files. Here is a sample:

3 - Loss of preferences

If I step away from my desk long enough that my screen turns off, when I log back in my Space Navigator doesn't work right. The up/down & right/left axes are reversed. If I open 3DxWare and close it (no need to change settings), it then works fine.

Can anyone help with these?

(BTW - I tried to open a case with tech support but could not because I don't have a support account. I tried to open on, but never got a response back to mny inquiry.)

Hello Doug,

I apologize that you encounter problems with your 3D mouse. I have searched though all our support requests, but could not find one with your email address. Yes, we are asking our users to create a My3Dx account before that can enter their inquiry. Did you have problems during the creation process?

Now to the issues you reported:

1 - Startup errors
We are tracking this issue with our internal bug number #7390. We will release a new driver with a fix for this issue (3DxProfileServer crash) shortly.

2 - Random Files in My CAD directory
We are tracking this issue with our internal bug number #7389. We will release a new driver with a fix for this issue shortly.

3 - Loss of preferences
We are tracking this issue with our internal bug number #7365. This issue is still under investigation.

Thanks for the follow-up. Good to hear these issues are on your radar and looking forward to the new drivers. Is there a way to get notifications of the release of new drivers?

I tried to enter a new case and got the message to create an account. I filled in the form to create an account, submitted it, and I got a message something like "Thanks, we'll be in touch shortly." I never heard anything else.
